Swift delivery of Accessible shower room during pandemic
The Problem
We were requested by family members of the elderly home owners to create a walk in shower area complete with fold down chair and grab rails. The project needed to be turned around swiftly as, due to the pandemic, the couple were unable to stay with family or use local facilities which were closed.
The Solution
We explored the option of using aqua panels instead of tiling in the area. This meant we could complement the existing décor of the room and eliminate the need for a full refurbishment. This saved money for the client and allowed the job to be completed in just 4 days, during which the couple remained in their home.
With the clients being both elderly and classified as vulnerable during the pandemic, strict hygiene and social distancing measures were non-negotiable. Our team wore full PPE during the works and cleaned down all touch points & working areas twice daily. We were able to work within the customers home whilst maintaining social distancing at all times.
The finished project has provided a suitable solution for the clients with minimum upheaval and within a defined budget.
